Compression drivers coupled to exponential horns move air with an efficiency that makes music physical, full of weight, and holographic.

Spucko Kungus pairs vintage horns and compression drivers with Bag End woofers. The crossover uses Western Electric capacitors and multi-stranded tinned copper wire, both from the 1930s–1950s.

The result: 115 dB sensitivity with true full-range extension.

Western Electric capacitors
Paper-in-oil capacitors from American telephony's golden age. Individually tested and matched.
1930s–1950s
Western Electric wire
Multi-stranded tinned copper (increases conductivity). Slow-drawn, so the wire forms a large, smooth crystal structure.
1960s–1980s
YL Acoustic horns and drivers
Exponential profiles with hard-duralumin diaphragm domes, driven by a nickel-cobalt steel magnet with Permendur in the gap for high flux density.
2000s
Bag End subwoofers
Flat to 8 Hz without digital processing.

Your room, your amplification, your music. We determine fit before anything else. Including whether this is the right instrument for you at all.

Private Audition

Hear the reference pair in the Virginia listening room, with your own recordings and, if practical, your own amplifier.

Commission

Specifications and finish confirmed. Your build is documented for you at each stage: component selection, crossover assembly, cabinet work, final measurement.

04

Delivery

Personal delivery, installation, and in-room calibration. The measurement set and component ledger are handed over with the pair.
